about

From the Press Release.
"The title track is a glorious 23-minute journey, filling the whole of the B side, beginning with an emotive orchestral piece, with strings and brass recorded across London, flowing into four to the floor motorik bliss. The recording of this track began in 2008 but lay abandoned for over ten years - “It was just too complicated and difficult to finish” and finally sees completion in 2021.
Neil describes The Romance of the Stars as his most personal record and a soundtrack to the last five years of his life, trekking across Spain seven times, journeying the length of India by train for 3 months, living on the beach in Sri Lanka, watching lightning storms rage around him at the foot of Spanish mountains, falling in and out of love…
Dom Martin (Polytechnic Youth records) enthused - “So pleased and chuffed to announced the new Eat Lights Become Lights LP will be on Polytechnic Youth this summer. PY151. Forgive early post hearing-in-entirety gush, but in 25 odd years of releasing stuff this is THE most soaringly gorgeous, beautiful record I ve been involved with. heavy on Eno / Cluster /
Popol Vuh / classical loveliness. just wow. I'm off to listen again...”
